Landcom ERP Replacement

Overview

As Landcom’s legacy ERP system neared end-of-life, the organisation launched a strategic initiative to replace it with Oracle Cloud ERP and EPM. The goal was to modernise the technology landscape, align the platform with Landcom’s business strategy, and support future growth, all within a defined project timeframe.

Challenge

The existing ERP system had been in place for years, embedding deeply entrenched processes and manual workarounds. Fragmented institutional knowledge made it difficult to map existing processes accurately for the transition to Oracle Cloud.

The shift represented a significant operational change, requiring Landcom to determine where Oracle’s out-of-the-box processes could be adopted and where tailored configurations were necessary to meet specific business needs.

Solution

Drawing on experience from similar Oracle Cloud deployments at LINX and InvoCare, Elwyn played a pivotal role in shaping the project approach. Elwyn defined comprehensive business processes across Record-to-Report (R2R), Asset Lifecycle Management (ALM), Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Order-to-Cash (O2C), and Project Delivery Lifecycle (PDL). These processes outlined both the current state and the target future state under Oracle Cloud, providing a clear roadmap for operational transformation.

A Target Operating Model and Control Framework was developed to define process ownership, roles, responsibilities, timing, and handoffs. This was complemented by a risk and control framework to ensure compliance and operational integrity. Leveraging deep Oracle Cloud product knowledge, Elwyn accelerated process design by distinguishing between mandatory Oracle processes and areas for Landcom-specific adaptations.

Elwyn also provided project management leadership for the system cutover, ensuring a smooth go-live by mitigating disruption risks and managing interdependencies. Acting as a bridge between Landcom’s Finance function and the system integrator, Elwyn facilitated clear communication, expectation management, and practical solutions throughout the deployment.

Outcome

Elwyn successfully transitioned Landcom to Oracle Cloud ERP and EPM on schedule, delivering standardised processes, enhanced system functionality, and future scalability. The project aligned the new platform with Landcom’s business requirements and strategic goals, setting the foundation for long-term growth.
